We then went to the “How To” page of their website and watched the videos on how to accurately measure our window openings for screens. I learned that I could hire a window company to come and measure custom screens for our windows or I could purchase traditional rigid window screens from a home improvement store. I did a quick Google search to see what options were available for purchasing window screens. We decided that we wanted to invest in new window screens for all 10 windows. When we looked closer at those 4 screens, we discovered 2 had bent frames, 1 had a large rip in the corner, and 1 fit so poorly that it could easily be pushed out of the window! Only 4 of the 10 windows that open in our cottage had window screens. While that sounds wonderful, early this summer we realized that we had a problem.
People just open their windows and enjoy the fresh air! The majority of the homes in our neighborhood don’t have a central AC system, because there really isn’t a need. Our cottage is completely surrounded by trees, and the house stays cool in the shade.
